Explosive punk rock, from Hamburg…

What’s the title of your latest release, and what does it mean to you?
’21:47′ is the title of our latest single. The song was written shortly after the birth of Johnny’s first child, so it is very emotional and personal.

What was the hardest part about putting this release together, and why?
We were in the studio and recorded five songs, which will be released gradually. This time, we wanted to take a different approach and release each song as a separate single. ’21:47′ is the second one; ‘Hammer Blow’ was released earlier.

Who produced the release – what did they bring to it?
We recorded the material at Wellenschmiede Studios, and the song ’21:47′ was mastered at Abbey Road Studios. We produced it ourselves, and the most enjoyable part was the discussions in the rehearsal room because everyone in the band has a welcomed opinion. That’s how our songs come to life.

What do you want the listener to take away from listening to your music?
Everyone should decide and interpret it for themselves. If we can evoke a feeling in the listener with our music and content, we have achieved everything we want.

How does a track normally come together? Can you tell us something about the process?
The songs come to life in the rehearsal room. Usually, Klaus (aka KlausROCK) comes with a basic riff, then we develop it together. Everyone contributes their part. Only then does it become a Blast Bomb song. Klaus is often not so thrilled because the song then has little to do with his original idea. But in the end, he’s happy too. It only works together!

What band/artists have influenced you the most since you started this project, and why?
It ranges from here to there. My general musical influence started with hip-hop, Run-DMC, and the Beastie Boys. It quickly shifted to Suicidal Tendencies, Rage Against the Machine, and Pantera. Many others followed.

A-Q&A-With-Blast-Bomb

What countries would you like to tour? Are there any standout venues you’d like to play in?
USA, Italy, and the East, actually no specific venues, just where the spirit is alive, and people expect good live music.

If you could pick one track for our readers to listen to in order to get a taste of your music, what would you pick, and why?
’21:47′ is a very good representation of our music.

What ambitions do you have for the band/your career?
We want to have fun and play in front of as many people as possible who enjoy live music. Every musician dreams of making a living from music. I think, with families and jobs, we are already very busy, so it’s just about going out and having fun.

Finally, as you leave the stage, what are your parting words?
Good night!
