It’s party season, and that means the nights on the town come thick and fast. Whether it be with colleagues, family, friends, we’re all looking to celebrate and all ready to toast the end of the year and have a great time.

Of course, folk in Leeds certainly know how to do that, and there are plenty of options when it comes to having a great night with loved ones in the city.

So, whether you’re a visitor to the city, or a native of the town, here are some great options for your Christmas nights out in Leeds…

A night in one of Leeds’ cosiest pubs

There’s something idyllic about a warm, cosy pub on a cold dark night, and if there’s one thing Leeds has, it’s plenty of pubs like that.

Leeds is one of the UK’s great pub cities and in every part of town you’ll find spots with open fires, great ales and armchairs you can just sink into. For a small group of friends, it’s the best place to settle down and enjoy a chat and a few pints.

The likes of Whitelocks, The Cross Keys, The Adelphi, Calls Landing and The Midnight Bell in the city centre are all great for this, while the likes of The Kirkstall Bridge Inn, Roundhay Fox and Headingley’s Arcadia are all good options.

Spin of the reels at a casino

Leeds has a number of casinos, particularly down by the bottom of Wellington Street and Kirkstall Road. It’s a brilliant social experience, whether you’re wanting to enjoy slots similar to Cash Noire or the many other slots we play online, or go head-to-head with friends in the likes of poker, making for a rather competitive evening.

Leeds’ casinos are great fun and always have a brilliant atmosphere at this time of year, while in many cases you can get a great value meal and drinks too.

The chaos of the Christmas markets

Of course, the Christmas markets are a good option for those wanting to get into the Christmas spirit. Centring around Millennium Square, it’s a great option if you fancy a bratwurst and a huge stein of lager. There’s always some good acts on, while the atmosphere is, well, shall we say lively. Ideal for a big group of buddies wanting to celebrate.

A fantastic evening at the theatre

Both the City Varieties and Leeds Grand have some great events on over the month of December. At the Grand Theatre you’ve got Northern Ballet performing The Nutcracker in the early stages of the month, before I Should Be So Lucky takes over until the end of the year.

At the City Varieties, it’s all about panto with Robin Hood, a slightly different rock ‘n’roll panto, while over at the Playhouse there’s Oliver! running right through into the new year.

Craft beer crawl

There are very few cities in the UK that have a craft beer scene like Leeds. It’s home to many tap rooms, breweries and great craft beer bars, all of which have established themselves in the city, region and country.

In fact, you can quite easily crawl your way around the city. Northern Monk, North and Kirkstall are musts, while SALT, Thornbridge and Ossett all have pubs in the city. A little further out, you’ve also got Horsforth Brewery, Ridgeside in Meanwood and Amity over at Farsley’s Sunny Bank Mills to name a few.
