Yorkshire’s Largest Education Provider Inspires Local People to Transform their Career and Consider Teaching

The largest education provider in Yorkshire, Luminate Education Group, is hosting an inspirational free virtual open event about non-traditional initial teacher training routes.

The free virtual open event will take place from 4pm until 6pm on Thurs 18th March and is ideal for anyone in the Yorkshire region who has ever considered becoming a teacher, especially if they have ever thought about utilising their industry experience to support young people’s aspirations or if they have a foundation degree and are simply considering a career change.

The event will be hosted by staff from the new Luminate Partnership for ITT, a recently launched teacher training provision led by specialists from the Luminate Education Group, which provides alternative initial teacher training routes with the opportunity to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

These career-defining opportunities from the Luminate Partnership for ITT include a Level 6 Postgraduate Teacher Apprenticeship (PGTA), which allows aspiring teachers to ‘earn while you learn’ while training full-time in a partnering school.

“Friendly and accessible event”

As well as providing insight into these exciting new routes into teaching, the event gives people an opportunity to ask any questions and speak to experienced teachers from institutions within the Luminate Education Group, including member schools of the White Rose Academies Trust.

“We can imagine many people have been rethinking their careers ever since the world changed last year, so this is a perfect opportunity for anyone who feels it’s the right time to take control and transform their career,” commented Jacqui Vaughn, Head of Teacher Training, Learning and Development for Luminate Education Group.

“This is a friendly and accessible event, ideal for anyone who has always had teaching in the back of their mind but has felt overwhelmed by the journey to get there.

“The event is free and anyone can come along, even if you’re unsure about whether you’re ready or if you do not think you have everything you need to apply yet. In fact, this is a perfect way to find out and learn about your next steps. We will also be talking about our alternative options and will be more than happy to answer any of your questions.”

“The aspiration to become a teacher is powerful because you have the opportunity to make a difference in young people’s lives.”
