Soundcore Space One Pro Headphones

As a daily consumer of a diverse range of music during commutes, work, walks, and leisure time, using headphones that deliver a rich, high-quality sound across various environments is essential.

I must say, I’m more of a fan of the in-ear pod style of earphones. However, especially indoors, I enjoy the immersive feel that a good, chunky pair of over-ear headphones brings to the sounds you’re listening to.

The Soundcore Space One Pro headphones by Anker recently caught my eye. Their robust design and promising features piqued my interest and made me want to give them a try. Here’s how it went…

What’s in the Box

  • Soundcore Space One Pro headphones
  • Carry pouch
  • One AUX cable
  • One USB-C cable

A free Space One Pro Travel Case came with it too, for extra protection when I’m on the move.

First Impressions

Robust and chunky seem to be the order of the day for these headphones. Firstly, the box is quite a substantial construction – which means two things: 1 – your headphones are going to be well protected in transit when you order them. And 2 – the likelihood of the product being anything other than chunky is very low.

So, taking the Soundcore Space One Pro out of the box, I was right in thinking we had a set of headphones that boasted a high-quality feel and were very robust. High-grade audio equipment rather than some more conventional headphones.

The aesthetics are quite sleek though, and the jet-black colour scheme is nice.

I did like the foldability of the headphones. Described as ‘super foldable’, they fold down into a discus-like shape, which is a nice soft look on the eye.

I also noticed the lack of substantial controls on the headphones though. This might be an issue for some, and initially, I thought it would be for me…then I realised I barely use the on-headphone/earphone controls anyway – preferring to use whatever device is playing the tunes.

Build, Functionality and Performance

After a full charge (you get up to 60 hours of playtime on a full charge, and a promise of 8 hours with a 5-minute charge) I was raring to go with the Space One Pros a go.

I decided to start up the bass-heavy funk tune of ‘Surrender To Me’, the viral hit by FireCityFunk.  And as the tune kicked in, so did the next stage of the unit’s robust offering.

I got a full-bodied sound and a very satisfying bass. It came with a precise sub-bass too that really complements the track.

From a sharpness point of view, I do think the vocals could be slightly crisper – but the overall quality is impressive for headphones at this price point.  The music is enhanced further by LDAC support and Dolby Audio expansion.

Shed Seven’s latest album Liquid Gold sounds particularly rich using these cans.

Design and Comfort

Despite their bulky appearance, the Space One Pro headphones are exceptionally comfortable. The generous padding on the headband and ear cups makes extended listening sessions a pleasure, with no discomfort or “headphone fatigue” typical with less thoughtfully designed headsets.

The discus-like FlexiCurve structure of the headphones allows for easy storage, reducing their size significantly when folded. While they lack touch controls, opting instead for traditional buttons, this design choice may appeal to users seeking tactile feedback over modern touch-sensitive interfaces.

Customisation and Usability

Customisability is a key strength, thanks to the HearID feature that tailors audio output to individual hearing profiles. This, along with the LDAC compatibility, allows for a personalised high-resolution audio experience that adapts to various content types.

I must say, to me this is a fab feature that I won’t really use. And the app lets you go down avenues of customisation. There’s an ‘easy-chat’ feature as well, which may prove useful if you’re in the office and need to speak to someone.  The Soundcore Space One Pro’s know when you’re talking, and drop the volume down to one bar.

The Verdict

I have to say, I really like the Anker Soundcore Space One Pro headphones. I don’t feel there’s anything groundbreaking with them, but they do deliver a lovely, rich sound and feel great when I wear them.

People who want to customise their sound settings via the HearID feature will really like them, and the foldable structure makes them an ideal option for on-the-go lifestyles.

While the aesthetics and button functionality may not appeal to everyone, the acoustic performance and comfort make these headphones a strong contender in their price bracket.
