A Q&A with Gavi

Connection Through Music…
What’s the title of your latest release, and what does it mean to you?
The Seasonal Affective Disorder: (SAD): Experience is more than just an album—it’s a journey through emotional highs and lows, love, heartbreak, and growth, all framed by weather and emotion.
What was the hardest part about putting this release together, and why?
Finding the balance between sharing personal emotions and keeping things universal was tough. It’s hard to be vulnerable while also making sure listeners can relate and find meaning in the music.
Who produced the release – what did they bring to it?
The production was a team effort between me and Micah Steiner, with help from our wider creative team. Micah’s technical expertise and my storytelling approach blend to make each track both polished and deeply personal.
What do you want the listener to take away from listening to your music?
I want them to feel understood and realise we all share similar struggles. It’s about empathy, perspective, and connection—knowing that no one’s truly alone in what they feel.
How does a track normally come together? Can you tell us something about the process?
A track often starts with a concept or feeling I can’t shake. It might be a lyric, a melody, or even just an emotion. We then build on that collaboratively, with everyone adding their own ideas and influences to shape the final piece.
What band/artists have influenced you the most since you started this project, and why?
Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Ryan Tedder, and storytellers like Walt Disney and Dr. Seuss. They’ve shown me how creativity, emotion, and a sense of wonder can unite people across different backgrounds.
What countries would you like to tour? Are there any standout venues you’d like to play in?
I’m open to touring worldwide. The idea of bringing people together from different cultures is what fuels me—music is a universal language that can connect anyone.
If you could pick one track for our readers to listen to in order to get a taste of your music, what would you pick, and why?
‘Watch It Bleed’ captures the pain of betrayal and the introspection that follows. It’s about recognising how we sometimes allow heartbreak to happen, yet still hold onto hope.
What ambitions do you have for the band/your career?
I want to create experiences that resonate on a deeper level than just music—something that fosters empathy and understanding globally. This project is about more than just songs; it’s about shared human experiences.
Finally, as you leave the stage, what are your parting words?
“Remember: Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind. Life is about finding balance, embracing empathy, and seeing the magic in every moment. Thank you for being part of this experience.”
