Tozo PA

By Steve Crabtree, March 2026

I’ve started to spend a lot more time outside lately. Doing things. Tinkering with the car, and trying to get things in the garden ship-shape for the warmer months. And in doing so, I’ve found that the speaker on my phone just isn’t giving me the musical companionship I need when there’s a breeze blowing or I’m at the far end of the lawn.

I wanted something better. Something portable that could actually carry a tune outdoors, and just as importantly, something that wouldn’t need diving for cover the second the typical British drizzle started.

That’s where the Tozo PA2 came in. It looked like the perfect portable speaker friend: Small enough to not be a chore to carry, and solid enough to handle a bit of life. I was keen to see if this little unit could actually deliver a soundtrack worth listening to while I was busy with the spades, spanners and sponges…

What’s in the box

  • Tozo PA2 Bluetooth Speaker
  • USB-C charging cable
  • Carry strap
  • User manual
  • Quick start guide

As soon you get this out of the packaging, it’s obvious this isn’t a flimsy bit of kit. It’s got a really nice, solid weight to it and a mesh fabric finish that feels premium. It’s roughly the size of a travel mug, which is ideal for slotting into a side pocket or just carrying around the lounge before heading outside.

There’s a real sense of durability about it too. The rubberised ends feel like they’re built to absorb the odd knock, and the buttons on top have a satisfying click to them. It looks smart, modern, and ready for the outdoors. Even if I wasn’t going very far.

Getting it going

Setting it up is a total plug and play affair. And I like that. I had it paired to my phone in seconds, and I didn’t even need to look at the manual. I did download the Tozo app, which I’d definitely recommend as it lets you play around with 16 different sound profiles if you wish.

I did flick through a fair few of them. Depending on what’s playing, it’s a great way to tailor the sound to your own ears. The controls on the unit itself are really intuitive, so you aren’t constantly reaching for your phone if you want to skip a track or crank the volume up.

So far, so good. But what about the performance..?

“Big sound in a small package”

When I first fired the Tozo PA2 up, I was genuinely taken aback by how much sound comes out of it. It’s got dual drivers and these clever bass diaphragms at the ends that really give the music some substance. Watching those side panels vibrate as the bass kicks in with a bit of Jungle is a great touch, it makes it feel like it’s working hard to deliver the goods.

I took it into the kitchen while I was doing the big Sunday clear-up, and the placed filled up with a really sumptuos beat. I even tested its waterproof credentials by the sink, albeit gingerly (I’m always like that where water and electronics are concerned!) and we’re still here with the unit in full working order.

It’s big sound in a small package. On top of the sound, the battery life is fantastic too; I’ve used it for a good few hours over several days and it’s still showing plenty of life. They claim 25 hours of playtime, and I certainly get the impression it’s going to live up to that.

What Tozo says:

“The TOZO PA2 features dual dynamic coil drivers and dual bass diaphragms, delivering rich, spacious sound from a single unit. Designed for versatility, it includes an IPX8 waterproof rating, making it resistant to rain and splashes. Powered by a 2000mAh battery, it offers up to 25 hours of continuous playtime. With the TOZO App, users can enjoy 16 customised EQ modes, enabling a personalised listening experience anytime.”

The Verdict

Fantastic. I’ve really taken a shine to the Tozo PA2. I travel quite a bit, and I usually take a pair of earphones for an overnight stay. But the size and performance of this means that’s going to change. It’ll drop in my travel bag, and come in more than handy.

It sounds fantastic for its size, and the build quality gives me total peace of mind that it’ll last. There’s so much value in the price point too, that this speaker is a must if you’re looking for a portable bluetooth speaker.

It’s such a well-built bit of kit that the rubber ends do pick up the odd fingerprint if you’ve been hands-on, but it’s a small price to pay for something so rugged. A quick wipe with a sleeve has it looking brand new again in seconds! Honestly, it’s a brilliant little performer that punches way above its weight. If you’re looking for a reliable, waterproof speaker that won’t let you down, this is a cracking investment.

The Tozo PA2 Speaker is available from amazon.co.uk. RRP £39.99
