Fleece

For Winter 21, Lyle & Scott has looked to their heritage as a knitwear factory in Hawick and focused on the local Scottish crafts surrounding the manufacture of knitwear. The company took inspiration from the fleece of the sheep, the raw material for spinning wool, with its insulating, soft texture and its natural protective elements. They have used shearling fabrics and boucle yarns to mimic the texture of fleece and create styles that both look and feel comforting to wear.

Brushed Heritage/Argyle

The Lyle & Scott archive is full of innovative knitwear pieces, from yarn choices to the stitches and techniques used. They took inspiration through the classic argyle knit patten from their archive and simplified it to a modern, minimalist design. Then they used brushed yarn and brushed jersey to soften and add comforting, textual interest. These pieces embrace the importance of the company’s heritage and appreciation of traditional techniques – modern styles with authentic heritage.

Patchwork

For AW21, Lyle & Scott has taken inspiration from the decorative and resourceful craft of patchworking. The story takes comfortable, essential styles and updates them with bold and modern colourblock patterns. These styles are perfect for adding colour and interest to any outfit, whilst also prioritising comfort. The key colours are nightshade blue, warm rose and tan.

Fabric Mix

Alongside patchwork, Lyle & Scott created a more subtle fabric mix story. They have taken a soft canvas and created a tonal patchwork design by mixing it with jersey fabric on t-shirts and sweats.
