Folk Punk Revolutionaries from Luxembourg…
What’s the title of your latest release, and what does it mean to you?
Richtung Fräiheet is our anthem for freedom—personal, musical, and beyond. It’s a rallying cry to break boundaries, face the chaos, and dance through it all.
What was the hardest part about putting this release together, and why?
Balancing ten strong personalities in one recording studio—it’s like herding cats with instruments. But that chaos? It’s where the magic happens.
Who produced the release – what did they bring to it?
We co-produced it with our trusted sound engineer, who knows how to capture raw energy and polish it without losing the soul. Think of it as distilling lightning into a bottle.
What do you want the listener to take away from listening to your music?
We want them to feel alive—to find freedom in movement, strength in chaos, and a connection that transcends language.
How does a track normally come together? Can you tell us something about the process?
It starts as a spark—a riff, a lyric, a melody—then we throw it into the band blender. By the time all ten of us have added our flavor, it’s unrecognizable from where it started but unmistakably ours.
What band/artists have influenced you the most since you started this project, and why?
The biggest influences for us have been the bands we’ve met along the way—those we crossed paths with at festivals or shared stages with early on. We watched them grow, push boundaries, and carve out their place on the international map, and it lit a fire in us to do the same. They weren’t just inspirations; they were trailblazers, showing us what’s possible and giving us the courage to dream bigger. They’ve helped shape the path we’re walking now.
What countries would you like to tour? Are there any standout venues you’d like to play in?
We want to take our sound everywhere—from the pubs of Ireland to the arenas of Germany, and maybe one day as headliner at the Rock am Ring.
If you could pick one track for our readers to listen to in order to get a taste of your music, what would you pick, and why?
‘Enner Deck’. It’s the perfect storm of raw energy and melodic soul, capturing everything Schëppe Siwen is about. Plus, if you listen closely, you’ll catch a cheeky nod to the Pirates of the Caribbean anthem woven into the mix. It’s our way of blending rebellion, adventure, and a touch of cinematic mischief.
What ambitions do you have for the band/your career?
We aim to spark a global movement celebrating free speech, respect, and the beauty of diversity—starting with its smallest and most unique elements. That’s why we’ve chosen to sing primarily in Luxembourgish. It’s our way of keeping linguistic diversity alive while proving that music transcends any language barrier. We want our songs to unite people, whether they’re singing along or simply feeling the energy. It’s about creating a world where individuality is celebrated and shared through the universal power of music.
Finally, as you leave the stage, what are your parting words?
Stay wild, stay free, and don’t forget to dance!
