TOG24 Palisade Ski Jacket – Review

After agreeing to join my wife’s family on my first ever ski holiday in Tignes, France, the floodgates of advice opened. As a less-than-novice adult in the world of skiing, I listened closely as the seasoned pros in the family offered guidance on everything from pre-trip lessons to must-have kit. Base layers, thermal socks, lip balms, hand warmers – the list grew by the day.
But amongst the practical tips came a theme I hadn’t expected: style. The more fashionable members of the family were all about how they’d look on the slopes, and what jacket would make the best impression on the piste.
So, I joined the search. I knew I wanted something warm and practical, yes – but it had to look the part too. Enter the TOG24 Palisade Men’s Ski Jacket in Light Grey Camo.
First Impressions
When my new TOG24 Palisade Ski Jacket arrived, I loved it. It was bright, crisp and clean – just like the snow I was about to spend a week falling over on. It’s described as light grey Camo in colour, but I’d call it white and Camo. The jacket looked even better in the flesh than in the images online, and the subtle camo colourway gives the coat a bit of a lift.
Quality wise, the material felt great and the fit was spot on. I had room for a base layer and fleece underneath without feeling baggy or restricted.
A quick tour of its features saw me finding snow guards inside the jacket to stop the white stuff creeping in underneath, and I carried on finding pockets – lots of them. My favourite (yes, a favourite pocket!) was the ski pass pocket in the wrist. Hold your arm up to the skilift’s turnstile and in you go – no need to fumble for your pass every time.
What a great coat – bring on the holiday…!
Performance
Well, it’s just a jacket, right? Wrong. This thing is a full-on ski essential. It’s stylish, functional, and built to take a battering. And believe me, I tested it.
As a first-time skier, I spent a fair chunk of my early hours falling down. Repeatedly. But the Palisade held firm. No rips, no damp patches, no complaints.
It kept me warm in the biting -7°C temperatures and dry in the snow, without ever feeling bulky or heavy. I appreciated the jacket even more as the week went on. Every time I reached for lip balm, snacks, gloves or ski pass, the pockets were perfectly placed and just made sense.

The Verdict
I’ve worn TOG24 before – their fleeces and tees are a staple in my wardrobe. But, I’d never tried their performance gear before. The Palisade has proven to be another piece of reliable TOG24 clothing. It’s tough, well-designed, looks great, and made my first ski trip all the more enjoyable. I didn’t once have to worry about my gear – just the snowplough technique and not falling over again.
For anyone new to skiing, or even seasoned pros wanting a jacket that hits all the right notes, this one is worth a look. Because for me, it was a solid investment. I’ve no doubt it’ll see me through many more seasons, and I’ll definitely be turning to TOG24 again when it’s time to add more winter wear to my collection.
