A Q&A with The Chuck Norris Experiment

Hard action rock from Sweden…
What’s the title of your latest release, and what does it mean to you?
Our latest album release is called Hot Stuff 3, and it is a collection of non-album tracks from the last few years. Some covers, some unreleased, some B-sides packed together on beautiful red vinyl. All songs are recorded in the same studio during the same period, so it sounds more like a studio album than a collection.
What was the hardest part about putting this release together, and why?
The only hard thing about it was deciding the song order. We all have different favourite songs, and when we ask friends and family they all got different answers too. But I think it turned out very well!
Who produced the release – what did they bring to it? If you produced it yourselves what do you enjoy most about producing your own material?
We have been going to the same studio (Meltdown) here in Kungsbacka for the last years, and the owner, Mr. Kenny Boufadene brings a lot of energy and good ideas to the table. Personally, I really enjoy working with him, he pushes me that little extra every time.
What do you want the listener to take away from listening to your music?
I want people to get happy and have a good time. We are not trying to be serious and/or have a deeper meaning to our music. We would like you to have a few beers and get our feet stompin’. Easy peasy.
How does a track normally come together? Can you tell us something about the process?
Usually one of us brings a song to the practice room. And then we give it a shot, and if it is a good song or foundation of a song the riffs, melodies and vocals come together fast. If it does not have a CNE-groove, we just forget about it and move on. We never jam out songs or try the same thing over and over again. If it is good for us, we feel it on the spot.
What band/artists have influenced you the most since you started this project, and why?
The bands that have influenced this band most is: Monster Magnet, Turbonegro, Ramones, Queens of the Stone Age.
What countries would you like to tour? Are there any standout venues you’d like to play in?
We would love to tour more in the UK, and South America. We have done our fair share of UK shows, but there are so many cities we still need to do. Brazil would be awesome!
If you could pick one track for our readers to listen to in order to get a taste of your music, what would you pick, and why?
Try ‘Kill the Night’. It says a lot of who we are. In your face rock’n’roll with lyrics about getting totally shit faced in the back streets of Hamburg.
What ambitions do you have for the band/your career?
Personally I would like to tour some countries we never toured. Thailand would be awesome, Australia, Portugal, Ireland is also on the list.
Finally, as you leave the stage, what are your parting words?
Thank you so much for having me! Be kind, stay safe and rock hard!
