Daewoo Tornado Up-Lift 600W Vacuum – Review
By Steve Crabtree, August 2026
If you’ve ever owned a heavy vacuum cleaner, you’ll know how annoying it is to lug it up and down the stairs. My previous pet vac, from a leading brand in the vac world, was a reliable machine but it was proper cumbersome to drag around the house. I wanted something far lighter and far less hassle, but still capable of giving the carpets a good clear-out.
An easier vac motivates you to keep on top of the chore we all love…right? And that led me to the Daewoo Tornado Up-Lift 600W Corded Upright Vacuum.
It’s compact, budget-friendly, and promises 2-in-1 flexibility without needing a gym session just to carry it. I was keen to see if this neat little unit could handle daily life in a busy home…

“Lightweight and hassle-free”
Straight out of the box, the first thing that hits you is the weight. At around 3kg, it feels brilliantly light in your hand. You can zip around the living room without straining your arms, and storing it away afterwards is an absolute doddle. It takes up very little space, so it slots neatly into a small cupboard without taking over.
It looks nice and neat too. There’s a few ugly looking vacuum cleaners on the market these days, and although you’re not looking at it to look pretty, it’s still nice if it comes with a pleasant aesthetic.
Putting the machine together is super easy, as is unclipping the main motor unit from the handle. With just one click, it transforms into a light handheld cleaner. That makes vacuuming the stairs, the sofa cushions, or reaching up to high spots far simpler than wrestling with a bulky upright.
“Pet hair and car cleanup”
Because of its lightweight feel, you’re tricked in to thinking you’re only going to get a lightweight clean. However, after a first session with the Daewoo Tornado, that false impression just gets sucked away. I found it tackled our living room seriously well, and because it’s easy to use, you’re finished in next to no time.
When it comes to suction, the 600W motor delivers plenty of power across hard floors and carpets. It handles daily crumbs and dirt with ease. For pet hair, the Tornado Up-Lift head gives it a proper good go. Since it isn’t a dedicated pet vacuum, you might need a bit of extra elbow grease on stubborn patches, but it still pulls up plenty of fluff.
The amount of hair and other debris you see in the cylinder is testament to that.
The included attachments do a grand job as well. The crevice tool gets right into tight gaps, and the brush tool was especially good for giving the car interior a thorough refresh. Once you’re done, emptying the bin takes a quick press of a button with zero mess.

Ideal for busy households and pet owners, it makes quick work of pet hair, crumbs, and everyday dust.”
The verdict
I have to say, because of its price point and its weight, I didn’t have the highest expectations of the Daewoo Tornado Up-Lift. But I’m genuinely chuffed with it, and it’s certainly proved me wrong.
My old pet-vac might have had the edge on deep pet hair removal, but this little machine matches it on almost everything else – and for a fraction of the price.
It’s light, easy to manoeuver, and switching to handheld mode takes seconds. I just can’t find fault with it.
If you want a compact, affordable, and stress-free vacuum that does a cracking job on everyday messes, this is a brilliant option.
