VonHaus Air Circulator Pedestal Fan – Review

By Steve Crabtree, June 2025
With summer properly upon us – and if the warm start to June is anything to go by – it looks like we’ll all be needing ways to keep cool over the next few months. And in our house, where we get a decent dose of sun through the windows all day long, a fan isn’t a luxury – it’s an essential.
We’ve tried a few options in the past. Desk fans, those little USB things, even portable hand-held. None of them really hit the mark. So this year, we wanted something a bit more capable. A proper fan that sits somewhere between a breeze and full-blown air con.
That’s what brought us to the VonHaus Air Circulator Pedestal Fan – and I have to say, it’s done a cracking job so far.
What’s in the box
- One 16″ fan head
- Base plate
- Upright support section
- Allen key/screwdriver combo
- Instruction manual
- Attached power lead
- Remote control
“Barely anything to build”
The best bit about this one? There’s barely anything to build. Three main parts, and one of them is already attached. The stand connects to the base, the fan head slots on top, and with a quick tighten of the main screw using the supplied Allen key combo tool, you’re ready to go. No faff, no overcomplicated bits, and the plug lead is already attached too.
Once we had it stood up in the lounge, it was just a case of plugging it in, grabbing the remote, and seeing what it could do. And I’ll be honest, we’ve found it to be fan-tastic. And no, I’m not sorry for that one.
“Evenly cooled”
This thing moves air. Whether you’ve got it on setting 1 (gentle breeze) or cranked up to 12 (gusty!), it cools the room really well. There’s no rattling or roaring noise either – just a steady, smooth, quiet whirr, even as the fan head rotates across its wide range. It tilts up and down 120°, and swings left and right 70°, so the room feels evenly cooled, not like it’s all aimed at one person sitting in the “good spot”.
Our sweet spot has been around level seven, with the horizontal swing switched on. And when the really hot nights come around, we’ve taken it upstairs and tilted the fan up towards the ceiling – that way, it doesn’t blow cold air straight in your face while you’re trying to sleep, but still manages to move the air around the room and cool things down nicely.
It looks good in the room too, and although it’s a sizeable unit – it’s light and easy enough to carry from room to room.

The verdict
Well, it’s fair to say that we’re properly pleased with this one. The VonHaus Air Circulator Pedestal Fan has gone down a storm with everyone in the house. It looks the part, feels well built, and – most importantly – it works brilliantly. You can adjust it to suit whatever you’re doing. Sat on the sofa, cooking in the kitchen, or trying to sleep in the middle of a humid night.
The remote is easy, but also has a control panel on the unit too. And that aromatherapy pad is a nice bonus as well. We’ve used it with a few drops of lavender and bergamot oil to freshen up the lounge, and it’s a really subtle touch that helps the space feel nicer without being overpowering.
In a nutshell, this is a big step up from the usual fan you drag out of the cupboard each year and cross your fingers. This one’s going to be used constantly. If you’ve got a room that traps the heat, or just want to avoid sticky, uncomfortable evenings, this could be the gadget that gets you through summer.
