A Q&A with Matt Forde
Matt Forde will be at York Crescent on 12th June 2025, with his brand-new show The End Of An Era – a sharp, funny and fearless look at British politics, world affairs, and everything in between. Known for his work on Spitting Image and his popular podcast The Political Party, Forde blends wit and insight in a night of stand-up that takes no prisoners.
We caught up with him before the tour to ask for his Famous Last Words…
Last thing you did that made you feel good?
Made a stir fry for lunch today. I usually make myself a chicken salad wrap, which I love. But it does get a bit samey. So today I went for it and made myself a bit fat plate of stir fry with noodles. I don’t regret it one bit.
Last thing you’d want to be doing right now?
Waiting for a delayed train alone on a platform in the middle of nowhere in winter. I love getting home and I love being warm. And I hate delays. To anything. I hate being late. Especially in the cold.
Last night on Earth… What’s your poison?
As much St Austell Tribute as I could fit in me. Plus some whisky. Sod it, it’s the last night. Loads of whisky. And wine. Chianti Classico specifically.
Last supper… What are you ordering?
I have to be careful of having curry because of my colostomy bag. But if it’s the very last supper then a Chicken Madras. Sorry Jesus.
Last person you’d want to share a drink with?
Anyone who won’t get their round in.
Last time you shed a tear and why?
I got a bit upset around the time of my cancer diagnosis. Not for the reason you think. I thought Nottingham Forest were going to get relegated.
Last refuge… where would you go?
New York. I’d sit in an Irish bar all day watching terrible American sports on the TV.
Last the course… tips on loot, love & life?
Follow your passions. Throw yourself into them, don’t be embarrassed about the things you’re interested in or how much you love them.
Last but one… random question: Tell us about something that interests you that nobody else knows about. Like Gaelic football… or porcelain.
I love the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. It’s an excellent, highly addictive TV show.
