A Q&A With Moira Stafrace

Bold and honest alt-pop from Malta…

What’s the title of your latest release, and what does it mean to you?
My last release was last summer… called ‘Movin’… it’s about moving on in life despite the heartaches, losses and obstacles… I will soon release new tracks… they will be out in the near future!

What was the hardest part about putting this release together, and why?
We actually had a deadline but made it on time..

Who produced the release – what did they bring to it? If you produced it yourselves what do enjoy most about producing your own material?
So far I’ve always collaborated on new songs… my near future new songs will be just mine… I’m targeting new fresh sounds.

What do you want the listener to take away from listening to your music?
Perhaps a message and good energy.

How does a track normally come together? Can you tell us something about the process?
It’s all about the muse and the inspiration of that particular moment… recently I’ve worked with a guitarist who used to just give me a guitar tune and I would come up with a melody and create lyrics… go to the studio and lay down a track.

What countries would you like to tour? Are there any standout venues you’d like to play in?
I’d love to perform live on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge in the UK of course… meanwhile any country away from home… it’s always fun and exciting to be in front of a foreign audience.

A Q&A With Moira Stafrace

If you could pick one track for our readers to listen to in order to get a taste of your music, what would you pick, and why?
I’d pick ‘Feather Flight’… just love the musical movements and mood of that song.

What ambitions do you have for the band/your career?
To keep performing live away from home… anything else would be a plus.

Finally, as you leave the stage, what are your parting words?
Thanks for being here… hope you enjoyed our music… rock n roll
