Bed Kingdom Noomi Pradas Storage Bed – Review

By Steve Crabtree, April 2025
As our ‘little’ girl isn’t so little anymore, 2025 was always going to be the year that it was time for a bedroom upgrade. Meghan, our fast-growing twelve-year-old tweenager, had finally outgrown her bunk bed, and far from needing to trade up to another kids’ bed – she was after a full-on transition into something much more grown-up.
With a love for her mum and plenty of adult traits starting to show, we knew a standard double was the only way to go.
Like many her age, she’s built up quite the collection of cuddly toys, school essentials, and hobbies over the years, so storage was going to be crucial. After spotting the Noomi Pradas Storage Bed at Bed Kingdom, Meghan loved the look of it straight away – and to be fair, so did we…
What’s in the Box
- Wooden frame parts, including headboard, side pieces, end pieces, and shelves
- Slats with guide tape
- Under bed storage drawer parts
- Labelled screws and fittings
- Instruction booklet
The Bed Kingdom Noomi Pradas Storage Bed arrived across four packages, with everything neatly packed and ready for assembly.
Setting It Up
Despite being very basic when it comes to DIY, I tackled the build solo – a decent challenge given the bedroom already had other furniture in place. Thankfully, it wasn’t too tricky. The instructions were clear for the most part, laid out like a typical flatpack visual guide. That said, because the wooden parts themselves weren’t individually labelled, a few pieces looked very similar, and a bit of guesswork crept in early on. There were a couple of moments where I had to deconstruct part of the frame and rebuild it, but once I’d worked things out, everything flowed nicely.
As it came together, it became obvious this wasn’t your average flatpack bed. The solid wood components (FSC certified too) felt seriously robust. Even the slats are a different class compared to thinner ones you often find elsewhere – substantial, strong, and made to last. It was clear I was putting together a proper, grown-up bed.
First Impressions
It was a couple of hours and a couple of cups of tea between getting the kit out of the boxes, and getting the bed constructed and put into place. And once we got the bed where it should be, with the storage drawer neatly underneath, we were all seriously impressed. So much so, my wife and I had a slight pang of jealousy that it wasn’t going to belong to us!
The bed itself looks brilliant. It’s a perfect standard double size and fits neatly into the corner of her room.
Importantly, it’s sturdy enough for sleeping, lounging with the dog, or chilling with friends. We paired it with a mattress we already trusted, and the result is a comfortable, stylish, grown-up bedroom she absolutely loves – and one we know will see her well into her teenage years and beyond.
The storage is fantastic. The four shelves at the foot of the bed give Meghan plenty of space for everyday essentials like shoes, school books, and ballet kit, while the huge pull-out drawer underneath is perfect for tucking away everything else. It’s absolutely massive – no shortage of space for all her treasures.
What Bed Kingdom says…
“This Noomi bed includes a large footend storage area and slide-out side drawer for storing clothing and other items. The modern minimalistic frame and headboard come in a solid white colour and are available in a double or king-size option. All Noomi beds are FSC certified, using sustainably sourced wood and finished with non-toxic, eco-friendly water-based paint for a robust, long-lasting build.”
To Dream? Or Not to Dream..?
She’s been in her new bed for a few weeks now, and Meghan’s sleep has improved no end. She’s happier, comfier, and absolutely loves her new grown-up space. It’s solid, sturdy, and practical – and it looks every bit as good as it feels. The clever storage design is being put to excellent use. And the overall feel of the bedroom is bigger, tidier, and more organised.
Not only can she sleep on the bed, she can chill with her friends and do whatever 12-year-old girls do nowadays. It’s perfect for cuddles with the dog in front of one of her TV series choices too.
We couldn’t have picked a better bed for this next stage in her life. It’s not a ‘kids upgrade’ – it’s a stylish, quality piece of furniture that’s perfect for anyone needing a smart double bed with serious storage.
The Verdict
In short, we’re all very happy. Meghan loves her new bed, and so do we. The quality of the materials and the solid build give real peace of mind, while the design fits beautifully into her growing personality and evolving needs.
We bought it for a twelve-year-old moving into the next stages of life. But, the Noomi Pradis bed from Bed Kingdom is far from a kids-only option. With its smart looks, practical storage, and brilliant quality, it’s a bed we’d recommend to anyone upgrading a bedroom or refreshing a guest room. Top marks from us.
