Great British Food Festival Returns to Harewood House, Leeds
Harewood House Hosts Great British Food
Festival in Spring
The Great British Food Festival is back at stunning Harewood House, near Leeds, to kick off the summer season. The event takes place over the Bank Holiday weekend, 26th-28th May.
The Festival takes in 12 venues around the UK this summer, with the Harewood event being something of a mainstay in the organiser’s calendar. The line-up includes over eighty Best of British producers and street food vendors, celebrity chef demos, talks, kids cookery lessons, great live music, a ‘Cake Off’ competition and ‘Men v Food’ challenges.
Howard Middleton will be one of the chefs who will also be judging the popular ‘Cake Off’, where amateur bakers compete head-to-head in two baking categories (see website for details and how to enter). Howard said: ‘I love doing the demos and the cake off is great fun. It’s brilliant to see what the public can do!’
Dan Maycock, Festival Director, said: “We’re thrilled to be back at Harewood, it’s always a lovely event with a great crowd. We are really keen to push things on for 2018, hence we have more activities going on and a great line-up of chefs.”
The main chef demo area hosts great local and tv chefs and all demos are free to enter so everyone can pick up top foodie tips. There are also regular artisan foodie talks, foraging walks and a drinks ‘Masterglass’ stage for people to get involved.
The Great British Food Festival has attracted lots of producers showcasing the best in local, seasonal and speciality food and drink. It’s a great opportunity to get a real taste of the best of the Yorkshire and Great British produce.
“All tastes catered for”
With Great Britain’s amazing mix of cultures and cuisines all tastes are catered for, so visitors can expect Thai, Mexican, Asian as well as pulled pork, prime steak, and the best local burgers and sausage for those with more traditional tastes!
After the foodie shopping is done, visitors are encouraged to enjoy a refreshing drink (or two) watching live music in the surroundings of Harewood.
A fun, foodie day out for the whole family is promised.
