Rebrand and Reopening at Raithwaite
Raithwaite Sandsend is re-opening on the 15th July, 2020. Formerly known as the Raithwaite Estate, the hotel has unveiled a fresh new name and brand identity. And from now on will simply be known as Raithwaite Sandsend.
The new name and branding highlights the hotels unique and sought after location of Sandsend beach along the North Yorkshire Cleveland Way. The rebrand also marks the start of Raithwaite’s multi-million pound, planned renovation and development programme.

Guests can feel safe in the knowledge that the hotel is in-line with the WHO and UK Government guidelines with enhanced levels of cleanliness. General Manager Alejandro Torrecilla said: “We have given great thought to every aspect of the new Raithwaite Sandsend customer journey, which of course adheres to the new government guidelines whilst at the same time enables our guests to feel relaxed and we just can’t wait to welcome them back.”
“Re-mastered guest experience”
For the re-opening Raithwaite Sandsend have put a number of new steps in place.
Prior to arrival guests must fill in a check-in health questionnaire. They will also be able to check Raithwaite’s new mobile app for offers, menus and hotel information. Check in and check-out will be carried out in designated areas away from the main reception, and final bills will be sent via email. And there are no cash payments throughout the hotel.
Raithwaite Sandsend currently has 73 rooms in total. But to ensure lots of space for all guests, only 64 rooms will be available for the re-opening. Room keys are sanitised before being given to guests and there will be a new guest amenity package provided which will include disposable gloves, masks and hand sanitiser. There’s a new room deep cleaning that’s been implemented focusing on touch points and pillows, duvets and linen will be quarantined for 72 hours in designated rooms.
“The perfect staycation”
It’s good news for dog owners too. Your faithful friends are still welcome, however guests will now need to bring their own dog beds.
All public areas have been arranged to meet social distance requirements too. Sanitiser stations have been placed throughout the hotel and staff will be subject to regular temperature checks, as well as health questionnaires.
The spa will run at a reduced capacity with access of only up to 10 people. Around the pool, loungers have been re-located in pairs and at least 2 metres apart from the others. Time slots will be introduced with 30 minutes between them to allow the spa attendants to disinfect the spa areas. Guests are to come in to the spa changed straight from their hotel bedrooms located within the Hall and treatment rooms to be used as a private changing rooms for those guests coming from the Keep (the hotel’s second building).
The hotel reopens with a special re-opening offer. Two nights in a Deluxe Room with private outside space, welcome drink, complimentary breakfast and late check out at noon is available from £299.
A three-night escape with Raithwaite Sandsend’s new bed and breakfast offer, reduced from £380 to £333 – a saving of 15 % following new VAT rates.
