The Piece Hall to Welcome up to 100 Minis in UK-first Italian Job Motor Rally
The Piece Hall is set to host the grand finale of the first-ever UK- Italian Job Motor rally. It’s an event that’ll see up to 100 Minis of all colours, shapes and sizes finish in Halifax. And the rally is also an exciting, free-to-attend family event, supporting an important cause.
The motor rally will also raise money for children’s charity Buttle UK. 100% of all cash raised by the participants and MINI UK donated to support children living in poverty who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s open to the public, with visitors invited to come down to The Piece Hall at 10 am. Visitors who come to see the spectacle can also expect appearances from Emmerdale star Liam Fox and Mini UK director David George.
The Italian Job motor rally is inspired by the 1969 classic film. And it’s seen Mini and vintage car enthusiasts rally across Italy for the last 30 years, raising money for charity. This year’s annual event has swapped the scenic views of Italy for Yorkshire’s breathtaking landscapes due to Covid restrictions. And it stops at some of the region’s most picturesque destinations, culminating at Yorkshire’s very own open-air piazza.
“The perfect backdrop for the finale”
Nicky Chance-Thompson DL is the Chief Executive of The Piece Hall. She said: “We are thrilled that The Piece Hall will be hosting the finale of the UK’s first ever ‘Italian Job’, unique event to raise money for Buttle UK, a truly outstanding charity working to support children living in poverty across the UK. The Piece Hall is a beautiful Italian-inspired building surrounded by stunning Yorkshire countryside, making it the perfect backdrop for the finale.”
Freddie St George is the event organiser. He added: “We are absolutely delighted that The Piece Hall has agreed to host the climax to this year’s ‘Italian Job’ event. It is the first time we have held it in the UK. And I can’t think of a more stunning venue to host the finale. The success of the Italian Job is that it taps into a uniquely British sense of philanthropy. The British have a fantastic sense of charity and benevolence, of the idea of helping somebody less fortunate than themselves. As fundraisers, we lead the world in terms of the things that we do, in terms of showing that we do care and we do want to give back. And I think all those things come together in the Italian Job Rally.”
The convoy of Minis will leave The Piece Hall from 12:00 to head on their journeys home. However, visitors will be able to stay for the rest of the day. The stunning leisure venue will remain open with fantastic food and drink on offer.
The Italian Job Motor Rally finale takes place on Sunday 17th October 2021. For more details on The Piece Hall visit: www.thepiecehall.co.uk
