Mitch Benn Q&A
‘Famous Last Words’ With Comedian Mitch Benn
It’s been a morbid time for “the country’s leading musical satirist” (The Times). He’s turned 47, his personal life is in turmoil, and his childhood heroes are dropping like flies. At times like these, a man feels the Reaper creeping up on him… But is death anything to fear? And is it really the end? Mitch Benn confronts his mortality with hilarious (and tuneful) consequences in his latest tour, Don’t Fear the Reaper.
We asked him, appropriately enough, for his ‘Famous Last Words’…
Last thing you did that made you feel good?
Helped out a friend.
Last thing you’d want to be doing right now?
My tax return.
Last night on Earth… What’s your poison?
If by poison you mean what am I drinking, Talisker or any other decent single malt. If you mean poison… well if it is the last night, I’d rather not. Want to stick around for all of it.
Last supper… What are you ordering?
Twelve steaks for the disciples and green salad for Jesus.
Last person you’d want to share a drink with?
Last time you shed a tear and why?
Last night I remembered my dad; then I remembered he’s gone.
Last refuge… where would you go?
Last the course… tips on loot, love & life?
Ironically I am the last person who should give advice to anyone on these matters.
Last but one … random question: Tell us about something that interests you that nobody else knows about. Like Gaelic football… or porcelain.
If nobody else knows about it, there’s probably a reason.
Your Famous Last Words?
Thank you and goodnight,
