Yorkshire Company Named Best Independent Self Storage Facility in UK
York’s Inner Space Stations Self Storage has been named ‘UK Best Facility Independent Operator’ at this year’s industry annual awards ceremony held in London recently (6 September). Hosted by television celebrity, Mark Durden-Smith, the event brought together the cream of the industry to recognise outstanding achievement.
Said Rennie Schafer, CEO of the Self Storage Association: “Inner Space Stations Self Storage was born in August 2017, and since then has boldly gone where no one has gone before. The storage facility at Layerthorpe has exceptionally high standards, with the aim of creating a customer-friendly, state of the art facility, with a truly unique identity. Delivering a wow factor with its stormtroopers and Skaro the Dalek in reception has certainly proved to be a talking point and has laid the foundations for both the internal and external appearance of the facility.”
“Testament to our great team”
Said Graham Kennedy, managing director of Inner Space Stations Self Storage: “As an independent family-run business running service stations for the past 25 years, moving into self storage was a new venture for us. But having closely analysed the market, we recognised that there was room for another leading independent operator, and since purchasing our facility last year, we have made great strides towards that goal. This award is testament to our great team and to all of the advice and support we have received from other self storage operators throughout the UK.”
Inner Space Stations Self Storage will now go forward to compete for the additional accolade of Best European Independent Facility at the Federation of European Self Storage Associations’ Conference in Paris later this month.
