New Year, New You – How to Feel Fulfilled in 2018
How to Feel Fulfilled in 2018
Feeling the effect of festive over-eating and the post-Christmas slump? Whilst the New Year period may have been and gone in the blink of an eye, there is never a bad time to have a full-blown mind, body and soul cleanse. The first part of the year is coming to a close but that doesn’t mean the opportunity to make a 2018 resolution has to fade. Not least when it comes to being happy and healthy. You never know, you could discover something completely new about yourself in your journey to wellbeing and life fulfilment.
The question is, what does feeling fulfilled really entail? What sort of things do you need to be doing? How do you maintain your resolution?
The trick is not to focus on one thing. Fitness, mental wellbeing and nutrition all contribute to a better you. Although the journey might seem tough to begin with, once you are living the life you want, you will never want to look back. Here are a few pointers to set you off in the right direction.
Physical and Mental Health
What no doubt springs to mind when creating a New Year’s resolution is exercise. The prospect of the gym does not have to be frightening, especially if you already go sometimes. However, it can feel hard sometimes to motivate yourself to go when there is no obligation to workout, even if you know you enjoy that rewarding post-exercise feeling.
Surely though, if you are happy with other aspects of your life, such as your work and social life, you’d want to be the healthiest you can be, to benefit you and the people around you.
This is where your mental health comes into play. If you don’t have the motivation to go to the gym and get into the best physical shape, perhaps that is because there is nothing motivating you mentally. Stuck in a boring job with no time to see the people you care about? As part of your New Year’s resolution for life fulfilment, it’s time to change that.
Mix Things Up
That’s right, a new career could be the answer. For instance, you love the gym when you are there, but there is nothing making you get out of bed in the morning to go. Why not turn your fitness dreams up a notch and make them a reality? Becoming a fitness instructor would give you the satisfaction you’ve been seeking all these years. You will be able to workout whilst you ware working but also spend time with other people and help them to become fitter. This is an uplifting feeling in itself and will boost your mental health.
You wouldn’t even have to travel to copious gyms or leisure centres to inquire about jobs. You can find job postings for fitness instructors online and discover what makes a good fitness instructor so you know what the role entails. Now that you have realised what the perfect job is for you, the journey becomes easier every step of the way.
Physical health is actually vital to making sure your mental wellbeing is in tip-top condition. If you find that you have a real energy boost after a workout, then you’re on the right track. In fact, it’s that notion of doing something that will make you feel good, which is the key.
As a fitness instructor, this comes with the job, and as you will be exercising as you work, there is no longer the pressure to hit the gym after a long day at the office. This means you will have this time to spend with family and friends, achieving a work-life balance and life fulfilment. Your New Year’s resolution has been a success.
