Mint Velvet Fashion Show

The Mint Velvet fashion show was a sophisticated soiree of everything relaxed glamour. The evening took place at the White Hart hotel, hosted in a room that reflected MV perfectly, it was scary how similar the décor was!

harrogate fashionThe room, promptly filled at 7pm by a wave of people created the perfect buzzing atmosphere. Some ladies were our devoted regulars, whose faces we were already acquainted with. However, we were also putting on a show for ladies who had travelled a little further afield.

The whole show was centred around the Harrogate based boutique’s most recent launch of occasionwear. A totally new section of the fashion market, this was the first time the label had introduced dresses purely specified for parties, birthdays, and weddings, anything really!

“Spontaneity”

mint fashion yorkshireThe show kicked off with a bang as the hottest SS13 holiday pieces made their way down the catwalk. A concoction of aqua tees, white cropped trousers and gorgeous summer dresses were the essence of this collection. Heavily inspired by the nautical theme, navy and white stripes resonated throughout, showing us how to take the trend and relax it for effortless chic.

A British summertime spin was put onto the next collection to be showcased. More holiday outfits ideas, but with the added edge of the British weather. Extra layers were added to combat the typical spontaneity of our weather, using long sleeved tops and leather jackets. Buttery soft leather in various shades, easily added edginess to multiple outfits, showing how one jacket can jazz up an array of garments.

“Expert advice”

Reasonably priced, the dresses ranged from £89 to £199. Perfect for weddings, graduations, birthdays, christenings, these were dresses that could carry you through the seasons, across many events and would never go out of style.

Overall the MV fashion show was fantastic and was the perfect way to show us what the garments actually look like on people, with expert advice on how to accessorise and layer pieces.

Mint Velvet is based on James Street in Harrogate. Opening weekdays 9.30-6pm and Sundays 11-5pm. Pop in to receive your very own personal styling session to reveal your inner relaxed glamour!
