YOUR NAMES: Harry Waterhouse, Simon Appleson, Dom Brooks, Matty Gillen.
BAND NAME: VICTORS.
WHAT DO YOU DO PLAY?: Harry: Vocals, Guitar, Synth. Simon: Guitar, Synth. Matty: Drums. Dom: Bass, Synth.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TOGETHER AS A BAND/PLAYING MUSIC?
We originally formed in late 2015 with Harry and Simon, and we quickly recruited Dom using online ads. After a year or so we ended up needing a new drummer, Matty was a friend of Dom’s and he joined almost instantly. We’ve all been involved in music for years before.
GIVE US THREE REASONS WHY WE SHOULD TRACK DOWN, LISTEN AND DISCOVER YOUR MUSIC?
The lyrical content of the songs are relatable to just about everybody (relationships, break-ups, sex, mental health).
It has that 80’s style vibe and who doesn’t love that?
Our followers’ age range is from 13 – 80, so there’s something for everyone!
WHERE DO YOU SOUND BEST – FESTIVAL, CLUB, BEDROOM – OR SOMEWHERE ELSE?
We really enjoy the small, intimate shows where we are up close with the crowd and we can feel everything that they are feeling. It’s surreal and quite nerve wracking in a good way. The larger festival stages are fun because we have the space to really perform and our true potential is shown.

Harry:

Simon:

SO, WHEN IT ALL GOES RIGHT AND YOU’VE GOT A MANSION AND A SUPERMODEL GIRLFRIEND/BOYFRIEND, WHAT WOULD BE YOUR BIGGEST MUSICAL INDULGENCE?
H: I’d like to own a squadron of tanks.
D: I would travel the world on a Harley Davidson.
M: I’d buy a massive swimming pool, drain it, then skate it in.
S: I’d like to save all the endangered species of the world and clean the ocean with all my money, Like Leonardo DiCaprio. And then go out with Jennifer Lawrence.
SO, WHEN IT ALL GOES WRONG AND YOUR ACRIMONIOUSLY BROKEN UP, SIGHTED HUGE MUSICAL DIFFERENCES, WHAT DO YOU ALL FALL BACK ON?
H: I’ll grow old in the loft of Simon’s house on a diet of red wine and Camembert.
D: I’d still go travel the world, just on a push bike.
M: I’ll ask my girlfriend to take me back.
S: I’ll see if Harry wants to form a VICTORS tribute band.
CITE SOME INTER-BAND MUSICAL DIFFERENCES:
Harry and Simon grew up listening to the likes of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, The Beatles, Phil Collins, The Smiths and Crowded House. Whereas Matty and Dom grew up listening to heavy metal and a sprinkle of Hip-Hop, like Black Sabbath, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slipknot, Wu Tang Clan and R Kelly.
WHO ARE YORKSHIRE’S FINEST IN CULTURE, SPORT AND MUSIC?
Music-wise would have to be the Arctic Monkeys and Kaiser Chiefs. Culture-wise would have to be David Hockney. Sport-wise would have to be the Brownlee Brothers (who came to Harry’s house party one time). Oh and of course the mighty LUFC.
