DJ/Producer from Hull with a growing rep – airplay, buzzing streams and club night included…
YOUR NAME: Kieran Bernes-Jones
BAND NAME: KaizzaB
WHAT DO YOU DO/PLAY? I’m a Producer/DJ
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PLAYING MUSIC?
About three coming on four years now.
GIVE US THREE REASONS WHY WE SHOULD TRACK DOWN, LISTEN AND DISCOVER YOUR MUSIC?
1. Each project I do is different, bringing a variety of styles in dance music.
2. I try to mix structure and concept into my own productions whether lyrically or instrumentally.
3. When you come see me DJ or perform I make sure that there’s something for everyone to vibe to throughout the journey of a set.
WHERE DO YOU SOUND BEST – FESTIVAL, CLUB, BEDROOM – OR SOMEWHERE ELSE?
Definitely a club for me, but would also say house parties as well when I used to do them for people.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST…
RECORD? The 2nd Law – Muse.
CD? I first owned a Robbie Williams CD (yep, haha) but the first CD I bought with my own actual money was Linkin Park’s Minutes to Midnight.
DOWNLOAD? Was probably AC/DC Back in Black. Can’t remember downloading music as well as physical, haha.
SO, WHEN IT ALL GOES RIGHT AND YOU’VE GOT A MANSION AND A SUPERMODEL GIRL/BOYFRIEND, WHAT WILL BE YOUR BIGGEST MUSICAL INDULGENCE?
Probably would spend it on a studio and hardware synths as well as help my family out financially. Would be great to do after all the times they have helped me to get to where I am now. Also creating a foundation to help people with difficulties and mental health issues.
SO, WHEN IT ALL GOES WRONG AND YOU’VE ACRIMONIOUSLY BROKEN UP CITING HUGE MUSICAL DIFFERENCES, WHAT DO YOU FALL BACK ON?
Good question. I would probably still find a way of working in the industry whether it be at a live venue scanning tickets which is similar to a part time job I’m in already or something more in the business area as over the last year or two I’ve been heavily interested in the business side of things. If not, I used to do IT beforehand so would probably go into that field and train to be a technician.
WHO ARE YORKSHIRE’S FINEST IN CULTURE, SPORT AND MUSIC?
There’s been a variety over the years in music. Could say Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys, especially with how massive they are. Newer artists for me has to be Chiedu Oraka one of the humblest people I know and his lyricism just gets better and better with each release he puts out.
Sport wise if I’m honest I’m more of a football fan compared to other sports, so people like Brian Clough was one of the greatest managers in English football. In recent times Kyle Walker, who’s been a decent right back for a few years and part of a Man City team which is currently dominating the Premier League and also for boxing Nicola Adams deserves a mention for her achievements.
