Rising alt-rock trio from Brighton – here’s Danny from Hybrid Kid…

How did you get the title of your latest release, ‘123’ and what does it mean to you?
You do the math.

What was the hardest part about putting this release together, and why?
Two different time signatures and a weird trippy bit, trying to fit it all in the same song.

Who produced the release – what did they bring to it?
James Gasson at Third Circle Recordings, great guitar tone.

What do you want the listener to take away from listening to your music?
We want to explode your mind, want you to feel like you’ve been picked up, shaken around and then slapped in the face.

How does a track normally come together? Can you tell us something about the process?
Egomaniac singer comes up with idea, tells everyone else what to do, then they just ignore me and do what they want. This is the result.

What band/artists have influenced you the most since you started this project, and why?
Pavement, Big Thief, Fontaines DC, Radiohead, Pixies, Interpol. So many great bands, so many different reasons

When the world is back to normal where would like to tour, and why?
Anywhere pleeeease! I’m thinking Hawaii might be nice.

If you could pick one track for our readers to listen to in order to get a taste of your music, what would you pick, and why?
‘Dropped’. Fans’ sure fire favourite.

What ambitions do you have for the band/your career?
Right now we’d settle for any gig anywhere, but a few festival slots would be nice and ultimately we’d love to be remembered for having written that album that you always want to play and always come back to.

Finally, as you leave the stage, what are your parting words?
Fuzz War Yes!
