A Q&A with Belau
Featured vocalists in downtempo Hungarian electronica – here’s Peter from Belau…
What’s the title of your latest release, and what does it mean to you?
It’s ‘Luz’, this is our most spiritual song, it means a lot for us.
What was the hardest part about putting this release together, and why?
This release was really easy to get together. It was really good that we could cooperate with Sexto Sentido.
What do enjoy most about producing your own material?
We produce all of our sounds. I enjoy the most about finding the right and unique sounds for a song.
What do you want the listener to take away from listening to your music?
Hopefully if somebody listens to our music it takes them to the seaside and some other peaceful places.
What band/artists have influenced you the most since you started this project, and why?
Bonobo, Odesza, Zero 7 and many more from other genres also.
What countries would you like to tour? Are there any standout venues you’d like to play in?
After 2020 we’re open for all concerts. Hopefully we’ll have a whole EU tour with the new album. But would be great to play in Australia.
If you could pick one track for our readers to listen to in order to get a taste of your music, what would you pick, and why?
Hard to choose one, they should listen to our Spotify playlist.
What ambitions do you have for the band/your career?
Travel, concert, compose a lot, create something new, meet interesting people, have great experiences with friends.
Finally, as you leave the stage, what are your parting words?
Thank you so much, we hope you have had a good time.
