Leeds Stylists Join the Style Squad

WESTROW DUO WIN PLACES IN GHD STYLE SQUAD

Two of Westrow’s up and coming stylists proved their hairdressing prowess recently after battling it out in a bid to become a member of ghd’s first ever Style Squad – a team of talented up-and-coming stylists who will support the brand in its consumer-facing events programme.

Around 100 applicants from around the UK made an initial application, from which 28 were shortlisted and invited to ghd’s Style Academy in Leeds for the judging day.

Stylists had to prep and reproduce their favourite look from London Fashion Week A/W12, using their own moodboards for inspiration, before being given five minutes in front of the judging panel to present their individual moodboards, inspiration and final look, from which the final 16 were selected.

The final 16 included two of Westrow’s up and coming styling talents. Step forward Eboni Day from Westrow, 18 Thornton’s Arcade, Leeds and Olivia Reeve from Westrow Ilkley, who each impressed the judges on the day with their trend knowledge and presentation skills.

It would be fantastic to help launch the career of the next fashionista – a rising star of the future. The calibre of the stylists we interviewed was beyond expectations and made a really difficult judging process. I believe we have selected a fantastic team and can’t wait to see them progress over the next year.
