Breakin’ Convention, the international festival of Hip Hop dance, is back for the ninth year.
This year, as well as breaking and popping, audiences can see different hip hop dance forms including locking and b-boying, plus newer styles such as house dance, devised on dance floors and born out of club culture.
Hosted and curated by Jonzi D, Breakin’ Convention comes to Sheffield and Leeds, presenting a dazzling array of the very best in hip hop dance with local crews in each city opening the shows. There are additional events in the mix including workshops, DJ demos, impromptu foyer freestyle sessions and even live aerosol art.
Keep an eye on www.breakinconvention.com for the latest details.
Yorkshire dates:
Friday 25 & Saturday 26 May – Sheffield Lyceum
2 June – West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds
